mid-term report ...
Hello from Cornwall!
hard to believe ... We have HALF TIME! Today, exactly half a year, we have arrived here ... and ... We are already planning times Looooser ... in half a year we will start the return trip ...
For all the last week have missed the entry ... there was nothing going on, we stayed in St. Ives and it is our cozy ... therefore, no entry!
Yesterday, Saturday, should I work in the morning ... the afternoon was a short trip to the beach at Carbis Bay on our program. Today we visited the Trebah - Garden ... despite the season had already seen many flowers ... A few impressions from the Trebah - Garden and the short history of the garden are several short ".... at "Homes & Gardens
Here is a short interim report ... As you can probably see from the blog entries, we like it here very much ;-)
The English are very nice, helpful and patient as we can cut us a slice of German .. whether the queue when driving or waiting in line, or when waiting for the order at the restaurant .... but again there are exceptions to the rule ..
here has any time for a cup of tea with colleagues and there is not so long ago a stress. One reason for this is the position of Cornwall ... surrounded on 3 sides by the Atlantic ... A lot of people here believe that it is in other parts of the country a lot more hectic ... "the Cornishmen dreckly do it" then we get to hear ... "Dreckly" is the acronym for "directly" which means ... what I like does not necessarily do today, but I can still do morning "....
absence must not of course the reference to the weather ... a very important issue .... We can not say that it rains here more often than in Germany ... and yes even though we come from the sunny south ... and foggy It was in the last 6 months is when high, 5 days! frost we had in about 10 nights and snow there were only the beginning of November for 2 days .... as many have probably a false image of England have .... even if it does rain seems, often after 2 - 3 hours, the sun of a cloudless sky.
Besides nature here, too many old houses to admire. Not only the stately homes - some perhaps from the Pilcher - know movies like this are not that many - but the old farms (farms) and houses (for example from the "Victorian era" around 1840 to 1900) are always beautiful to look at. Meanwhile, we have a book on the houses purchased and which borrowed from the library. The old pump houses from the era of tin and copper mines are impressive and are here simply to the beautiful countryside to ...
We are definitely on the 2 Half time - enjoy the warm season and try for the next 6 months in the full (or in spite of full trains) .... again greetings from Cornwall and Have a nice week! Your SCHMITTIs
